Our Vaccine Philosophy

As a practice we see the great value of vaccines. We recognize that they have saved many lives and feel comfortable recommending them to our patients as the CDC and AAP have outlined. We see ourselves as a resource and, hopefully, a trusted guide in the journey that you are on as a family to raise the healthiest child possible. We recognize that each family has a unique set of circumstances, experiences, and beliefs that have brought them to the point where they make health related decisions for themselves and their children. This includes the decision about vaccines. Know that at H.I.P you will be supported regardless of your decision and that we will strive to partner with you and your children to promote their optimal wellness.

Immunizations typically start at 2 months of age with most babies getting their first immunization, Hepatitis B, at birth. Please use the tools listed below to gain more insight into the various vaccines, their purpose, and the recommended age/schedule for receiving them. If you are planning on any other immunization schedule other than the recommended CDC schedule, please download the H.I.P. Alternative Immunization Schedule and bring it with you to your child's 2 month well chid visit to review with your provider.

We are happy to discuss your questions and concerns about vaccines at your child's next visit.
